NOUVELLE VAGUE

New Wave = Bossa Nova =  Nouvelle Vague

The equation is simple

This is how Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux created a unique project that, starting from the tracks of the punk and post-punk scene, reinvented the genre of the "cover band"

All this is enriched by brilliant performers: Camille, Phoebe Killdeer (whose song Fade Out Lines was remixed by The Avener), but also Nadeah and Mélanie Pain, and finally Liset Alea.

Four albums released between 2004 and 2010, over a million records sold, tours around the world, including concerts at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the Olympia in Paris.

2011 is the year of the breakthrough: the band decides not to record any new album and prefers to dedicate itself to new projects, including the realization of a unique show in collaboration with the creative genius of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (Ceremony et Dawn of innocence). At the same time the members of the group are dedicated to other personal projects: Uncovered Queen of the Stone Age for Olivier and Bristol, and the label Kwaidan for Marc.

Now, however, it’s time for everyone to return to this beautiful adventure and give the public some news. A new album Should I Stay or Should I Go? a new show, a new journey in music and the extraordinary qualities of female performers exalted more than ever in this new adventure.

Nouvelle Vague by Nouvelle Vague and some friends is a set of future projects:

  • A new album containing punk and post-punk songs rearranged with the inimitable Nouvelle Vague touch and for the first time some original songs written by Marc and Olivier that show that the two producers are not simply brilliant rearrangers.
  • Rearrangements, “reworked version” of the classic Nouvelle Vague, revisited using collaborations with musicians known in recent years through the collaboration with Starwood/ Le Meridien Hotel.
  • The version of “In a manner of speaking” together with some Cuban musicians, “Killing Moon” with a mariachi orchestra or “Ever Fallen Love” with some Indian musicians once again show that these songs can be played with various arrangements.
  • For the first time ever some remixes of Dream Koala, Caravan Palace and many other surprises to come.
  • A documentary written and directed by Marc Collin that traces the history of the Nouvelle Vague project from its origins to today.
  • And of course a world tour starting this fall that will touch all continents and will see the whole team on stage

Nouvelle Vague: Mélanie Pain, Elodie Frégé, Liset Alea and of course Marc and Olivier.
